Dr. John Sampson

Owner/Veterinarian

Dr. John Sampson was born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota. He attended the University of North Dakota for his undergraduate degree. Upon graduation in 2008, he became a zoo keeper for a few years before pursuing veterinary medicine. He attended his first year of veterinary school in the Caribbean at the American University of Antigua, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biological Sciences. He absolutely loved living in the warmth of the Caribbean for a year. That is also where he met his wife, Dr. Stephanie Ravin.

After a year in Antigua, he was able to transfer to the University of Edinburgh, Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he finished the remaining three years of his veterinary degree. After graduation, he was accepted to a small animal rotating internship at the Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Services hospital in Rochester, NY for 1 year. Upon completion of the internship, he joined Greece Animal Hospital, further honing his skills in a busy, small animal practice.

He then moved to Bucks county, as Dr. Ravin is originally from Richboro. Dr. Sampson worked at Ark Animal Hospital of Chalfont for 4 years before pursuing ownership. When he met Dr. Linn, they realized they practice very similar medicine and have similar business ideologies. Dr. Sampson then purchased Richboro Veterinary Hospital from Dr. Linn in October of 2021. Dr. Sampson thoroughly enjoys meeting new people, and their beloved pets. He also enjoys building relationships with pet owners through trust and education. He has special interest in surgery and diagnostic imaging.

Dr’s Ravin and Sampson have two children, a daughter named Stirling (4) and a son named Beckett (2). They also share their home with their Coconut Retriever, Ellie, whom they adopted while living in Antigua. They also have two orange cats, Daryl and Doodle.

Dr. John Linn

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Linn was born in Erie, PA and raised in Penn Hills, a suburb of Pittsburgh. He's a proud graduate of Pennsylvania State University, BS '82, MS '84. Dr. Linn attended The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, married his high school sweetheart Dorothy in '87 and graduated in the class of 1988. He returned to Murrysville, PA to begin honing his skills in all aspects of companion animal medicine. When the opportunity arose, he purchased Richboro Veterinary Hospital on December 1, 1991. Newtown became home and Bucks County was a great place to raise three children. In 2000, Dr. Linn designed and built the current location of RVH in order to better serve our patients and their families.

Dr. Linn is very gratified by the faith, trust and loyalty that has been shown by scores of clients through 30 plus years of entrusting the care of their precious pets to himself and the staff of RVH. Having turned over ownership to Dr. Sampson, he will have the opportunity to spend more time with his three grandchildren, pursue his hobbies of golf, travel and fly fishing, while still providing the best medicine/surgery for his patients. He shares his home with his two golden retrievers, Cara and Ray.
